Winter is often a challenging time for our health and our spirits. This workshop series aims to introduce participants to herbs, trees, and flowers that can help boost the immune system and keep our bodies harmonious during the coldest days of the season. Teas, spices, delicious foods and baths are some of the medicines we can offer ourselves and our families during winter. Come find out how to nourish yourself during the “Long Nights Time.”
November 19, 2011 – 1-4 pm What is the energy of winter meant to teach us? How can we best work with winter? We will discuss the medicinal properties of common kitchen herbs and foods that can help stoke the fire we need to make it through this season in good health. We will also create fire cider– an old remedy that can be taken daily.

In this session we will discuss the tools and the steps to create water based medicines and alcohol based medicines. We will discuss some of the must have herbs for winter and create an immune boosting tincture.
December 3, 2011 – 1-4 pm We will talk about several herbs that support the respiratory system and explore different ways to prepare them. We will also make our own cough syrup.

wish I was in NY!
Greetings Ekere,
Thank you, for sharing your home. It was a wonderful 1st class. It was pure magic the laughter, herbs, herbal walk, tree hug(after many yrs.), tasting the herbs and enjoying a bowl of your husband’s delicious soup. It was a joy meeting you in person, your family and Amadoma. I look forward to our 2nd class.
Guess what? When I returned home and checked my herbal and natural healing libray Rosemary Gladstar’s book Herbal Healing for Women was amongst my books. Amazingly, this has been a recurring theme. For homework I will review my notes. Again, thank you. I’m enjoying the reading of Karma’s Footsteps. Blessings Always. Lorraine
Lorraine, don’t you love the synchroncity of realizing that the same book we talked about in class had been sitting on your shelf for years? My godfather would say “you are in the flow.” 🙂 I hope you have made some medicine since last we met. 🙂
one love,
Ekere
Greetings Ekere and Readers,
My experience has been incredible! I feel great having embarked on a path I’ve long had an interest in. I did little things here and there, However, at this point I am committed. My teacher Ekere and her family have been kissed by the lips of God. They are so loving and genuine. For those who missed this workshop series I advise you strongly to register as soon as the next announcement workshops are posted. Herbal medicine lessons, nice/fun co-students, the Tallie Family and great nutritions food & drink lovingly prepared by a sweet couple. Wishing mother Tallie a safe and beautiful return trip home. Looking forward to seeing you on your return.
Lorraine, it was such a blessing having you here. Your enthusiasm and your unabashed love for the plants is beautiful. I believe the depth of that love has the power to shift things on our planet. Imagine if we all felt that love and expressed it and acted on it every day. The world would be a different place. Well, you are acting on that love in all that you do and I am grateful.
one love,
Ekere
